• A Distant Heart

A Distant Heart by Sonali Dev is $2.99! If you listened to our podcast episode with Sonali, she summarizes the book as a Rapunzel retelling set in Mumbai. Hello! Though some readers say this isn’t their favorite romance by Dev, it’s still pretty dang good.

Her name means “miracle” in Sanskrit, and to her parents, that’s exactly what Kimaya is. The first baby to survive after several miscarriages, Kimi grows up in a mansion at the top of Mumbai’s Pali Hill, surrounded by love and privilege. But at eleven years old, she develops a rare illness that requires her to be confined to a germ-free ivory tower in her home, with only the Arabian Sea churning outside her window for company. . . . Until one person dares venture into her world.

Tasked at fourteen-years-old with supporting his family, Rahul Savant shows up to wash Kimi’s windows, and an unlikely friendship develops across the plastic curtain of her isolation room. As years pass, Rahul becomes Kimi’s eyes to the outside world—and she becomes his inspiration to better himself by enrolling in the police force. But when a life-saving heart transplant offers the chance of a real future, both must face all that ties them together and keeps them apart.

As Kimi anticipates a new life, Rahul struggles with loving someone he may yet lose. And when his investigation into a black market organ ring run by a sociopathic gang lord exposes dangerous secrets that cut too close to home, only Rahul’s deep, abiding connection with Kimi can keep her safe—and reveal the true meaning of courage, loss, and second chances.

Infused with the rhythms of life in modern-day India, acclaimed author Sonali Dev’s candid, rewarding novel beautifully evokes all the complexities of the human heart.

  • Second Sight

    Second Sight by Amanda Quick

Second Sight by Amanda Quick is $2.99! This is book one in the Arcane Society series. I’ve been very curious about this one. It’s a historical romance with some mystery. Is there magic too?! Please let me know!

Financially straitened and on the path to spinsterhood, Venetia Milton thought her stay at the remote, ramshackle Arcane House would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engineer her own ravishment. She was there to photograph the artifacts collected by a highly secretive organization, founded two centuries earlier by an alchemist. And the alchemist’s descendant-her employer, Gabriel Jones-has the eyes of a sorcerer.

But despite Venetia’s intent to seduce Mr. Jones and move on, she is shattered upon her return home to read in the press of his violent demise. Using the sizable fee Mr. Jones paid her, Venetia establishes a new life, opening a gallery in London. Of course, posing as a respectable widow makes it easier to do business, so-in a private tribute to her lost, only lover-she assumes the identity of “Mrs. Jones.”

Her romantic whim, however, will cause unexpected trouble. For one thing, Mr. Jones is about to stride, living and breathing, back into Venetia’s life. And the two share more than a passionate memory-indeed, they are bonded by a highly unusual sort of vision, one that goes far beyond Venetia’s abilities as a photographer. They also share a terrible threat-for someone has stolen a centuries-old notebook from Arcane House that contains a formula believed to enhance psychic powers of the kind Gabriel and Venetia possess. And the thief wants to know more-even if he must kill the keeper of the Arcane Society’s treasures, or the photographer who catalogued them, to obtain such knowledge.

  • Damaged Goods

    Damaged Goods by Talia Hibbert

Damaged Goods by Talia Hibbert is FREE! This is technically a Ravenswood series novella (#1.5) and is just under 200 pages. It also features a second chance romance between teenage sweethearts. Warning here as there are descriptions of domestic violence.

Second chances shouldn’t be this sinful.

Laura Burne‘s husband is a monster, her diamond ring is a trap, and her pregnancy is the push she needs to finally escape. She runs away seeking safety… and finds Samir Bianchi, her long-lost teenage sweetheart.

With his kind eyes and dirty smile, Samir’s still hot as hell—and he still treats Laura like a goddess, baby bump and all. The wild boy she spent one magical summer with is every inch a man, and he’s more than ready to care for her tiny family.

But Laura’s been keeping a secret Samir might never forgive. When she finally confesses, will he remain by her side? Or is this fairytale ending too good to be true?

Please be aware: this book contains depictions of domestic violence that could trigger certain audiences.

  • Soul of Sin

Soul of Sin by Tracy Cooper-Posey

Soul of Sin by Tracy Cooper-Posey is FREE! This is the first book in the Scandalous Scions series, which is a spin-off of one of Cooper-Posey’s other series. The description is rather sparse, but I’m getting the hint that the heroine is a widow who truly loved her late husband. And Goodreads reviews mentioned the heroine is older than the hero!

    Two broken hearts.

Lady Natasha Innesford, four years a widow, still cannot stir herself to live. Her life died with Seth.

Lord Raymond Marblethorpe, oldest son of Lady Elisa Farleigh, has loved the mysterious Susanna forever, but she can never be his.

Can they learn to let go of the past and love again?
